At NICE, we not only support children and adults with movement disabilities, but also their family and loved ones, creating a support network for everyone who accesses our local and specialist services. By participating in this challenge, you will be contributing directly to these life-changing services and will be helping us to sustain our vital work for years to come.

Parental consent form

Any person between the ages of 13-17 will need to have a parent/ guardian complete the parental consent form. Once the form is completed, please send a copy to ecook@conductive-education.org.uk

What you need to know

Throughout the event, you won’t be alone. A team of abseil experts will be by your side, ensuring your safety and guiding you through this incredible experience. Our dedicated NICE fundraising team, abseil team, your family and friends will also be there to cheer you on every step of the way. Reaching a fundraising target can seem challenging, but we are here to help. We will provide you with sponsor forms and aid in the setting up of your JustGiving page providing you with all of the tools that you need to reach and exceed your fundraising goals.

Please read before registering!

We ask that participants with any health concerns seek medical advice before taking part – these may include:

  1. High blood pressure
  2. Heart condition
  3. Suffer from dizziness or epilepsy
  4. Damage to neck, back, spinal column, legs or eyes
  5. Asthma
  6. Prescribed Medication – this must be disclosed at registration to inform us of how this may affect you.

You will be asked to sign a waiver declaring you are fit to take part.

The following points apply to ALL participants:

  1. Participants aged 13+ years old require a parent or guardian to be present -parents will be required to sign a permission slip to allow their child to take part.
  2. Glasses and hard contact lenses cannot be worn
  3. Maximum weight limit for a solo participant is 110kg (17.3 stone)
  4. Waist harnesses fit waist size of 40cm (15.7 inches) to 125cm (49.2 inches)

The NICE Heights Abseil will run from 9:00 AM – 17:00 PM. The time of your abseil will be allocated for you. If you would like to abseil at a specific time, please speak to a member of the fundraising team. Please note that we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate your preferred time.

  • There is a £15 non-refundable registration fee to secure your abseil place and cover administration fees.
  • We kindly ask our abseilers to fundraise a minimum of £100 This can be done via online fundraising, traditional sponsorship forms or fundraising events.

Participants must be aged 13 years old and over to take part.

Anyone aged 13- 17 years old will be required to have a parent/guardian present with them at the event and will be required to have a signed permission slip.

You must wear sensible, comfortable clothing and footwear. We highly recommend wearing sportswear (i.e. gym leggings, tracksuit bottoms), however suitable and safe fancy dress is encouraged!

You can also wear a Go Pro to record the abseil experience and the views from the top of the Millennium Point Building. We recommend attaching your Go Pro to your wrist as there may not be a suitable position for your Go Pro camera, on the abseil helmets.
