This year, NICE are proud to announce that we are taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge, the UK’s biggest online match funding campaign.

The campaign will start on Giving Tuesday, November 29th, and will end on December 6th. Every donation made during this week will be DOUBLED thanks to our generous supporters who have made pledges and to Four Acre Trust who are generously match funding our donations this week.

TARGET

Our target for this campaign is to raise £4,600 towards our Milestone service, which will allow us to provide nine group sessions next year, making a difference to the lives of young children with movement disorders and their families.

NICE’s Milestone Club provides free specialist sessions for children with neurological movement disorders aged 0-3 years and their parents. We help the children improve their physical ability, whilst providing their parents with techniques to aid their child’s development and interact with other parents.

The Milestone Club is for children who are displaying a delay in meeting their milestones of child development. All of them have been affected by a neurological impairment which has led to a global developmental delay. For some there may already be a diagnosis e.g. cerebral palsy, but for others there may not yet be a formal diagnosis. As movement disorders are difficult to diagnose and support is hard to find, many families are left not knowing where to turn.

How does The Big Give work?

The Christmas Challenge is the UK’s largest online match funding campaign. NICE has been allocated a champion, who funds a ‘matching pot’ for doubling any donations made by our supporters. This means that there is no better time to donate than during the Christmas Challenge when your donation has twice the impact. We have already secured £2,300 of match funding so we need to raise £2,300 in online donations throughout the week of the campaign.

Donations must be made during the Christmas Campaign week through the dedicated Big Give platform. Please note that donations made through the NICE website, cheques, bank transfer or to online donation pages will not qualify for doubling, so please use the Big Give link only, which can be found here.
